Cryogenics (conference)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Cryogenics is an international conference from the series of conferences started in 1972, which deals with cryogenic engineering, equipment and physics where temperatures below 120 K (-153°C) are achieved, as well as with other devices and related technologies. The conference topic covers three of ten commissions specified by the International Institute of Refrigeration[1]:

HISTORY:[edit]

The cryogenic conferences series started in 1972 as Kryogenika 1972, national conference organised by Czechoslovak Scientific and Technical Society[2]. Since then, it is held every two years except for the event in 2017 that followed a 3-years period. The original national format was slightly changed in 1982, when the Cryogenics conference with international participation took place for the first time. A new era began with the Cryogenics 1990 held in Košice (Czechoslovakia) that was announced as the 1st International Conference. This event also got for the first time a financial support from the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR). Later on, Dresden was chosen as the conference venue in 2012 and in the following years the event takes place alternately in Prague and Dresden.
