Anwar Gavilanes, commonly referred to by his stage name DJ Diddy, is an American Disk Jockey who grew up in Galloway, New Jersey. He first established a name by providing Event Management at house parties[1] and progressed to headline a show at Club Karma in 2015. He has since thrown his own festivals such as TnD Fest, [2] performed with artists including Jay Critch [3] and 6ix9ine[4], and launched a world tour. [5]

Early Life[edit]

DJ Diddy was born in the The Bronx and moved to New Jersey at a young age. He graduated from Absegami High School[6] and went on to attend Kean University. He dropped out after his first year to pursue Disk Jockeying full time.

Career[edit]

Music Festivals[edit]

DJ Diddy was booked his first Music Festival, (Adventure in the Park) in October 2016, but it was canceled due to an impending hurricane.[7] On February 18th, 2017 DJ Diddy threw his own festival, TnD Fest[8], selling out the event with over 2000 tickets. Memorial Day Weekend he performed a primetime set at Hyper Glow Tour. [9] He is set to perform with the Hyper Glow Tour again, on January 12th 2019. [10]

Artist Tours[edit]

DJ Diddy toured with artists, Fatboy SSE, and Remy Boy Monty, on November 11, 2017.[11] This caught the attention of Lil Uzi Vert and lead to their show at Bliss Lounge in Clifton, NJ. [12] 6ix9ine and DJ Diddy partnered up for a show in Miami at the RC Cola Plant. [13] At the end of 2018, DJ Diddy launched his world tour. He perfomed shows in Lebanon, Israel, Germany, Italy, and France.[14] [15] [16]

Personal Life[edit]

DJ Diddy continues to put on shows for his original fans.[17] He enjoys playing video games alongside celebrities, such as Lil Terrio, in his free time.[18]
