DLR Projektträger

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Hello all,

Twice the draft was rejected. Most recently, the history section was criticized for being an essay. I see it differently, but can adapt. For this reason, I have shortened the draft quite significantly. The history section has been thrown out. Only the beginning of the activities (1974) is mentioned.

To give an idea of the managed financial resources, the number of projects managed and the number of employees working at DLR Projektträger, I referred to the most recent annual report. This is not meant in a promotional way, but only to prove facts.

The Dave Brubeck Trio once played Three To Get Ready. With that in mind, I ask for a third review of this AFC. Many thanks for the effort.

I 'm surprised how anyone would come to such a conclusion in just 25 minutes. In my view this draft is not promotional, it tries hard to be neutral.

  1. For numbers, names and simple facts, you can unquestionably use information from the homepage or annual reports.
  2. The biography of Matthöfer, written bei Werner Abelshauser, is beyond any doubt.
  3. Also the presentation of the historical development uses the essay of Helmut Klein (Der Projektträger im DLR von seinen Anfängen bis heute) appeared in a book that can be found in more than 40 university libraries, see here.
  4. The articles by G. B. M. Mensink et al, Gunter W. Panzner, Dieter Sauer, and Georgia Badelt are also reliable.
  5. Reliable newspapers and magazines have also been used: Der Spiegel and Bonner General-Anzeiger.
  6. A central aspect is the historical section. This cannot be promotional at all. How should that be possible? I have not left out anything that would be somehow critical or problematic. Those who imply this must justify it with good literature.
  7. The importance of the DLR Projektträger can also be seen from the fact that a search for "DLR Projektträger" in the catalog of the German National Library yields more than 100 hits. DLR Projektträger is involved in very many scientific publications.
  8. The draft is a shortened and translated version of the German entry. There nobody has complained.

I ask for a renewed and unprejudiced review. Thank you. Atomiccocktail (talk) 08:50, 23 June 2021 (UTC)

Hello all,

This is a draft (paid edit) about one a German project management agency, in operation since 1974.

A few comments on this proposal:

  1. It is not intended to advertise DLR Projektträger, which is not what Wikipedia is for.
  2. A larger part is dealing with the history of the organization. This is also not intended to be promotional. I think the development shows how the project management of research funds in particular has evolved.
  3. I avoided superlatives. (I hope I didn't miss anything there.)

I would love to see this draft adopted and thank you in advance for your feedback. Atomiccocktail (talk) 08:31, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

As part of the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e. V. (German Aerospace Center, DLR), DLR Projektträger (DLR-PT) is a project management agency that has been active since 1974[1][2] as a service provider for the management of research, education and innovation.

Tasks, clients, volume[edit]

The DLR Projektträger advises applicants on funding, prepares funding decisions, supervises funding projects during their term and ensures success monitoring. Another field of activity is policy advice.[3][4] In terms of content, it is primarily concerned with research, education and innovation at regional, national and international level.[5]

Clients include German federal and state ministries, the European Commission, foundations, associations and scientific organisations.[3][6]

In 2020, DLR-PT managed 11,870 funding projects and administered funding with a total value of 2.24 billion euros.[7]

Organisation and sites[edit]

DLR Projektträger – Headquarters of the Executive Board

The DLR Projektträger is part of the German Aerospace Center and thus legally part of a registered association. The headquarters are located in Bonn.[8] Another operating site is located in Berlin.[9] There are also offices in Brussels, Dresden and Düsseldorf.[5]

Management, staff and study[edit]

Klaus Uckel has headed the DLR Projektträger since the beginning of January 2015.[3] His deputy since then has been Jörn Sonnenburg.[10] At the end of 2020, DLR Projektträger employed 1,359 employees.[7] Since the summer semester of 2021, the DLR-PT has also been offering a dual study programme with the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences with its RheinAhrCampus Remagen.[11]

National contact points[edit]

In 2020, 14 national contact points for the European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizont 2020 (Horizon 2020) were based at the DLR Projektträger. As institutions of the Federal Government, they act as intermediaries between interested researchers, ministries and the European Commission. The national contact points also deal with different topics, such as the promotion of women in the field of science (Women in EU research), with research infrastructures, information and communication technologies, or law and finance. In addition, based on the cross-sectional contact point established in 1997, DLR-PT operates the EU Office of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (EU-Büro des BMBF).[7]

Coordination and information centres[edit]

Five coordination and information centres were located at the DLR Projektträger in 2020:
