Dan Poole (social entrepreneur)

Dan Poole, (born Daniel French Poole, 23 September 1993) is an Australian social entrepreneur.[1] Born and raised in the Melbourne suburb of St Kilda, he studied at Monash University.[2] In his career he has founded several for-profit companies but is most well-renowned for founding the social enterprises Crêpes for Change, The Coffee Cart Changing Lives and home.one, which exist around the causes of youth homelessness.[3][4] He is also the grandson of Australian artist Leonard French, most known for constructing the stained ceiling at the National Gallery of Victoria.

Early life[edit]

Poole was born in Melbourne, Australia and raised in St Kilda. Poole's mother, Professor Lisa French, is the Dean of the Faculty of Media at RMIT University. His father, a filmmaker, immigrated to Australia from Leicester, England with his family in the 1960s. Poole's maternal grandfather is Australian artist Leonard French, most known for constructing the stained ceiling at the National Gallery of Victoria.
