Dasaran Educational Program[edit]

Dasaran Educational Program

Dasaran is a solution in K12 education that is used by one third of the entire population in Armenia - over 1 million people /school students, parents, teachers, principals and policy-makers/ and helped

  • improve student performance by 39.6%,
  • decrease student absences by 83.78% and
  • increase computer literacy level among teachers from 5% to 81% in Armenia.

History and Mission[edit]

Team of creative young people had a belief that it was possible to make a difference in the field of education by using the advantage of information technologies. As a result the idea of Dasaran was born. It brought the fresh air of innovation in e-governance at schools. Within a short period of time it turned into a major tool and became a part of school routine.[1].

Going in line with the best world practices, Dasaran aims to help countries

  • meet their educational-technological development goals,
  • advance evidence-based educational policy-making,
  • improve student performance,
  • augment teacher capacity.

Dasaran helps build infrastructural capacity for more effective and efficient educational policymaking that addresses UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 (Quality Education), 9 (technology, innovation, and infrastructure) and 10 (Reduced Inequalities).

Dasaran has proven its concept in Armenia and ensured 100% penetration into the education system, connecting all public schools in the country to a unified platform and transforming into a final Instrumental solution for policy makers.

Changing behavioral patterns of how kids learn, how teachers interact with students, how parents learn about their kids, et al, Dasaran also majorly helped increase computer literacy of teachers and ability to predict/plan ahead based on data, as well as cut the time of state-level data collection and processing to seconds, reduce corruption risks in the education system and promote equal educational opportunities for all.

Just imagine all the kids in the country, even the ones in the remotest mountainous areas having access to the same educational resources as those in large cities.  Dasaran is proven ultimate technology platform to make primary and secondary education truly inclusive at a country scale.

Structure[edit]

Dasaran comprises four main components:

Learning Management and Information System[edit]

An online tool-set for effective school management and student performance monitoring that provides insights to all stakeholders in the education sector and promotes transparency in public schools.

The system compiles real-time statistical data and provides accurate comparative analysis of aspects such as school management efficiency, student enrollment numbers, and student performance using various indicators, including regional teacher, student, and parent demographics (territorial-administrative units), age and gender distribution, average student grades and absence rates, student transfer rates, teacher workload vs. teacher/student ratios in class, and the respective shift projection by years, etc.

Data Analytics for Policy Making - E-Stat Diagnostic Tool on Public Education[2][edit]

An advanced online statistical-analytical tool that provides comprehensive insights into the education system. It allows for effective monitoring of schools and more accurate measurement of education indicators across the country.

Customized E-Learning and Gamified Education[edit]

A rich virtual repository comprised of more than 60 educational games that encompass a wide knowledge base and combine interactive and alternative education with equal learning opportunities for all users.

Closed Educational Community [edit]

Secure virtual peer-to-peer communication platform connecting school students, teachers and parents, cutting the distance and bridging the learning and technology divide across the country.
