ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Sven Kamm was born on July 5th, 1962 in San Francisco, Ca. His Father, Jim Kamm and Mother Sheila Monroe Kamm, both had bookstores in the wild San Francisco of the 60’s. In fact his father’s store, A Big Little Bookstore, is mentioned in the Smithonian as the place where the members of the band Sothwhip Camel met.
Sven Kamm’s Maternal Grandfather, Robert Clay Monroe was a silent film director for Vitagraph Studios in Los Angeles. His Maternal Grandmother Kay Brosnon Monroe was a silent film actress who performed under the name Brownie Roberts. Kamm attended University of California, at San Diego. Where he studied Film.
Kamm’s Paternal Grandfather Rufus Kamm 1934 invented RC Cola in Atlanta, Ga.
Kamm moved to Los Angeles to pursue film and while working at PBS in Los Angeles Kamm won two Emmy awards for editing. Kamm was married to Tamra Boltjes but they divorced in 2001. In 2002, Kamm was without health insurance and had an aortic aneurysm but the late great Larry King and his heart foundation gave Kamm the surgery he needed at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. In 2010 Kamm Won the Sierra Nevada award for best documentary. And as a writer has also won acclaim as a finalist in the Sundance screenplay competition, the Universal Studios screenwriting competition and as a semi-finalist in the prestigious Nicholl Fellowship screenplay competition. Kamm’s films include “Dateomatic”, ”Curse of the Shaolin," “Blinders",“Letters from Darya” and "The Greenhouse Effect.”
Kamm has 2 Emmy awards for editing.
