David An[1] (born May 14) is an American actor. He is known for his role as Air Force Liaison Lee in Clint Eastwood's, The 15:17 to Paris.[2]
Early life and education[edit]
David is the youngest of two boys, and a first generation American-born in his Chinese family.[3] His parents met at a University in the States, and work in Information Technology. David competed in the Junior Olympics and National tournaments for Table Tennis and medaling in several events. He was heavily involved in music and musical theater through school, culminating in two performances to sing at Carnegie Hall as a member of the All-Eastern U.S. High School Honors Chorus alongside fellow actress Anne Hathaway. David then transitioned music experience into editing, interning at Lost Planet Editorial working under Hank Corwin (Nixon, Natural Born Killers). There he worked on commercials and music videos as an assistant editor and editor. Eventually, he moved out to Los Angeles, where he worked on feature films. He continues to work behind-the-scenes as well as in front, following the footsteps of his High School Alumni, Spike Jonze.
Career[edit]
David got his start in acting as an extra after he was chosen for a role at a casting call at a local mall as an for the Disney Movie, First Kid (1996) starring Sinbad. He then went on to win a Pepsi Talent competition as a child, to do commercials with Ray Charles. His first guest TV role was in 2014 with Octavia Spencer in Red Band Society. Soon after that, his career took off and he appeared in films and television shows like Allegiant, The Vampire Diaries, Grey's Anatomy and NCIS: Los Angeles.
