Early life[edit | edit source]

David Carson was born on the 20th September 1995, in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

Career[edit | edit source]

Carson started his footballing career as a youth with Newcastle United, and then moved to their biggest rivals, Sunderland. He didn't progress with either team.

Jarrow Roofing[edit | edit source]

Following his youth spell with Sunderland, he was eventually let go, and joined Jarrow Roofing.

Ashington[edit | edit source]

In the summer of 2013 he joined Ashington

Blackburn Rovers[edit | edit source]

In 2014, Carson signed for Blackburn Rovers[1], though he didn't make any senior appearances, he made 36 appearances and scored twice in the Premier League 2 over the two seasons he was there.

South Shields[edit | edit source]

Following his release from Blackburn, David joined South Shields, who was at the time under the management of Gary Middleton, who had managed Ashington in the time that Carson was playing there.

Whitby Town[edit | edit source]

In January 2017, Carson joined Whitby Town, but left at the end of the season to join Morpeth Town

Morpeth Town[edit | edit source]

Inverness Caledonian Thistle[edit | edit source]

On 15 May 2019, Carson made his second jump out of non-league, and first out of English football, to Scottish Championship side, Inverness Caledonian Thistle[2]. Prior to his signing, Inverness manager John Robertson travelled to see him play, where he was impressed with what he saw. As the Northern Premier League season had concluded, Carson was offered an early trial, rather than wait for the summer. In his trial, he again impressed Robertson, who then offered Carson a contract. Carson made his debut in a 0-0 draw in the Scottish League Cup on 16 July 2019 at Peterhead, the game then went to penalties, where Carson scored his but ultimately it came to a 11-10 loss
