David Martin Harris

David Martin Harris is the Chief Executive Officer of the Melbourne Queer Film Festival in Melbourne, Australia. They have previously held leadership roles[1] at Australian arts organisations including the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras.
David’s pro-bono work includes being the Chair and Co-Curator of SEVENTH Gallery and Board Director of Moogahlin Performing Arts. They were a co-recipient of the 2019 FBi SMAC Award for Best NSW Music Event.
Early Life and Education[edit]
David grew up in regional locations across Australia, including Derby and Norseman in Western Australia. They moved out of home at the age of 16[2] to Perth where they became a specialist arts student at John Curtain College of the Arts, and went on to study Journalism and Mass Communications at Edith Cowan University. David left university to take up at role at the West Australian Ballet but later finished an Bachelor of Communications at RMIT University.
