Dave Reice was born in Levittown in 1953. Reice attended Neshaminy high school and played soccer there. Reice scored both goals in the district final of his senior year. Reice would go on to be a 4 year starter at Penn State. In his first year he would play forward,

but finish his last 3 years as a left back. In 1971, Penn state would get a upset victory over Navy 2-1 with Reice getting a major assist from Reice. During Reice's time at Penn State, they would reach the quarterfinals 3 times from 1971-1973. . During Reice's senior season in 1975, he would lead the team in goals with 12. After trying out with several teams in the NASL, Reice would then go on to coach at Devon prep in the late 70's. He would also play in the Philadelphia United league until the early 80's
