Possessing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, an MBA, and a Ph.D., she earned her degrees from Southern Illinois University, Loyola University's Quinlan School of Business, and the University of Colorado.
Beginning her career in 1997, Deirdre Baggot used her skills and knowledge first as a resource coordinator and staff nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. In this position, she also served as the manager of the hospital administration group. While in this position for six years, she implemented a variety of changes to increase efficiency and patient satisfaction, many of which are still being used today.
Upon leaving this position, she made the move to Ann Arbor, MI, where she began a position as a business analyst for the University of Michigan Health System. Spending three years in Ann Arbor, she earned Lean/Six Sigma Certification, and also was given an award for Outstanding Leadership in Safety. Serving also as an administrative manager while in this position, she brought about many positive changes to this organization as well.
However, in 2006, Deirdre decided it was time for a significant career change, and thus made the move to Denver, where she accepted a position as a senior administrator with the Cardiac and Vascular Institute. A subsidiary of SCL Health, Deirdre was responsible for managing more than 450 employees, and was instrumental in bringing new and innovative ideas in such areas as recruiting, marketing, acquisitions, payer contracting, business development, and numerous other areas associated with the company. While in this position over a four-year period, she quickly established herself as one of the healthcare industry's most skilled and experienced business analysts. Not only did she gain a reputation as an excellent recruiter of new employees, but she also played a key role in helping to add 11 new clinic locations across Denver and the surrounding area.
As her career continued to move forward, Deirdre chose to leave Denver and move further west to Los Angeles, where she continued her career with GE Healthcare Partners. Accepting a job as a Senior Vice-President, she focused primarily on the organization's healthcare payment system. While working on various projects that helped strengthen the company, she gained much praise and recognition for her work on creating a new payments consulting organization, which resulted in an increase of annual revenues of more than $6.6 million.
Due to her vast experience in the healthcare system and in particular its payment system, Deirdre Baggot has also served with organizations that have been instrumental in looking for ways to solve various complex payment issues within the industry. As the chair of the National Bundled Payment Summit, she helped create and implement many innovative solutions to a variety of issues.
