Dispossession

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Dispossession is a term in decolonial, post-colonial, and settler colonial studies that is concerned with the deprivation of persons or peoples of land, property, and resources, material or otherwise. Land in the context of colonial dispossession is broadly understood and can mean, for example, water or produce. Judith Butler writes that dispossession, "describes the condition of those who have lost land, citizenship, property, and a broader belonging to the world."[1]
