Minaj and Jeremih has collaborated twice before on her album, The Pinkprint on the songs "Want Some More" and "Favorite".Mustard and Jeremih had also worked together before on the songs "The Fix" and "Don't Tell 'Em".[2][3]
An animated video for the was uploaded on the 26th of August on YouTube.[4]

“Don’t Hurt Me” is a sensual, sexual collab between Mustard, Minaj and Jeremih. The mixing engineering was done by Jaycen Joshua.[5]
