From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

dotProject+ is an open-source tool to support Project Management complying with PMBOK processes (https://www.pmi.org/pmbok-guide-standards). Its development has initiated during 2010, as part of researches projects in Software Engineering area.

The purpose of dotProject+ was to produce a software tool to support the Project Management best practices as documented by PMBOK, and yet suitable for small and medium enterprises. In this context, dotProject (https://dotproject.net/) was selected to be enhanced; once it had the comprehensiveness support to the PMBOK processes than other open-source PM tools. Hence, dotProject+ is composed of dotProject core modules, and several add-on modules that together provide a complete support PM processes.

All enhancements performed on dotProject were based-on add-on modules, not changing any core module, this way, enabling organizations that already adopt dotProject to also include dotProject+ modules without impact in their existing data and functionalities. Yet, there is an usage guide, explaning most of dotProject+ functionalites available to download on its website (http://www.gqs.ufsc.br/evolution-of-dotproject/).

The complete dotProject+, including all its add-on modules, are available in dotmods (https://sourceforge.net/projects/dotmods/), the official repository for dotProject add-on modules. According to source forge statistics since 2011 to 2018, dotProject+ add-on modules have reached more than 25.000 downloads.

Currently, dotProject has moved its new releases to GitHub (https://github.com/dotproject/dotProject), and some dotProject+ module has been developed as branches in an attempted to merge such modules as part of dotProject core functionalities, and complying of up to date technologies.
