Down in the City

Down in the City is the 9th solo studio EP / album by Bob McCarroll. Released in 2018, the EP / album was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Bob's home studio, OneStop.Studio during the 2018 year.

Once again, Down in the City again sees Bob McCarroll moving in a new musical direction from previous releases...this time towards an "alternative" musical style / direction.

The album's title is derived from the first song on the EP, Down in the City, and was a song Bob composed after watching the television series, "The Americans." While a vague reference to the show, the song is about one of the main characters on the song, Stan. (Spoiler Alert)...After working long hours on a case, Stan sees his wife pull away from their relationship, with Stan doing little to help the situation. The song lyrics probably tell the story better.

With Bob playing all of the instrumentation on this project, he did elicit the assistance of a couple of his musician friends to help with the background singing on Oh, Jesus. Oh, Jesus is a song Bob wrote for his friend Mark who was facing a serious medical crisis and operation. Sadly, Mark passed away several months after the song's release.
