Iftikhar Ali completed his PhD in 2018 from Chinese Academy of Sciences and became the first PhD holder of union council Gulibagh district Swat, Pakistan. He is well known for his participation in the anti-Pakistan tahreek taliban movement and female education along with Malala Yousafzai in district Swat. According to him, female education is more important than male education to educate any society as the mothers are the first growing locus of any terrorist. Education movement is a gradual process which should be started from yourself, proceed to family, small village and then to whole society. He recently started a small project “education for females” in village Gulibagh to encourage the females toward the modern education.

He published five research articles working on an important trait of wheat “grain hardness” to improve the global wheat production.[1],[2] He found three new alleles of puroindoline gene which have beneficial effect for improvement of this trait.[3] He also worked on Arabidopsis thaliana a model plant for geneticist to produce a mutant which fails to complete the male gametophyte developmental process causing complete male sterility.
