Dr. Karin Luise is an author, transformational coach, speaker, and host of "The Dr. Karin Show," as well as The Fatherless Daughter Project, which she co-authored with Denna Babul, RN.

Personal Life[edit]

Karin Luise Klebe was born in Atlanta, GA and became Karin Luise Fulford when her mother re-married her stepfather.[1] In 1992, she married Chipper Jones while he was playing with the Braves class A affiliate in Macon, Georgia. The couple divorced in 1999 when it was revealed that Jones had been having an affair with a Hooters waitress. [2] Luise later married Joe Smithson, and had three kids together, twins Elise and West, and Hoyte, the youngest.[3] The couple later divorced and Luise officially changed her name to Karin Luise.

Education[edit]

Luise received a degree in Early Childhood Education from Wesleyan College in 1992, a Master’s degree in Counseling from Argosy University in 2003, and a Counselor Education and Practice PhD from Georgia State University in 2008.[4][1]

Work[edit]

Luise began teaching middle school in 1991. Later she wrote and produced a television segment, “Karin’s Korner,” on WXIA-TV, the local NBC affiliate in Atlanta.[1] In the early 2000s, Luise began working as a counselor, and in 2013, co-founded The Fatherless Daughter Project with Denna Babul. Together they wrote “The Fatherless Daughter Project: Understanding Our Losses and Reclaiming Our Lives,"[5] which was published in 2016,

In 2017, Luise joined the Lighter Side Network where she hosts "The Dr. Karin Show," where she has conversations with spiritual teachers and thought leaders while exploring topics such as conscious living and holistic well-being.[6]

In 2018 she launched her "Break the Rules" course, a monthly program designed to help women break away from old belief systems and create a life of color, revolution, and transformation.[7]

She writes a regular column, “Ask Dr. Karin” in Southern Seasons Magazine and is a featured blogger for The Huffington Post. Here on her webpage, she shares inspiration, products and coursework at to light the fire within each of us.

She has appeared on a wide range of media outlets, including Redbook, FoxNews, The Jenny McCarthy Show, HuffPost Live, CNN.com, The Washington Post, The Examiner, Fox & Friends, Coffee with America, About Families, Sharecare Radio, OMTimes Radio, the Atlanta Journal & Constitution, Best Self Magazine SoulFeed, and many others.
