Aftab Pureval (born September 9, 1982) is the Hamilton County, Ohio Clerk of Courts. He is currently running for the United States House of Representatives in Ohio's First Congressional District against Steve Chabot.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Pureval was born in 1982 in Xenia, Ohio. He attended Ohio State University from 2001-2005 and received a Bachelor of Arts in political science. He then attended the University of Cincinnati College of Law from 2005-2008 and earned his Juris Doctor.
Career[edit | edit source]
After working at a law firm, Pureval became a special assistant federal prosecutor. He then worked as the global brand attorney for Olay at Proctor & Gamble. In 2016, he was elected as the Hamilton County, Ohio Clerks of Courts, the first Democrat in more than 100 years to hold the office.
House of Representatives Campaign[edit | edit source]
In January 2018, Pureval announced his campaign for the United States House of Representatives in Ohio's First Congressional District. Within his first eight weeks, he raised $660,000. He is challenging incumbent Steve Chabot.
