Benjamin Tassie

Benjamin Tassie (born 28th September 1987) is a British composer and performer of electronic music. He was New Voice 2015 composer with the British Music Collection[1] and is shortlisted for the 25th Anniversary Arts Foundation Award 2018.[2]

In 2018, Tassie released his debut album, Bop,[3] a follow up to the 2015 EP, Wurl.[4]

Career[edit]

Tassie completed his undergraduate degree at King's College London and the Royal Academy of Music before going on to complete a Masters at the Royal College of Music. He composed a new choir piece with poet Annie Freud, performed in a disused factory as part of the London Festival of Architecture 2017.[5] He arranged pop songs by Björk, Radiohead, and others for baroque orchestra at Kensington Palace.[6] He has collaborated with Rambert Dance, most recently for performance at Wilderness Festival in 2015.[7] As DJ, Tassie has performed at the V&A, Dulwich Picture Gallery,[8] the Royal Academy of Arts[9] and elsewhere.
