EA Exiles RFC

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

EA Exiles RFC is an amateur rugby club based in Woodbridge, Suffolk, UK that plays matches to raise money for charity. It was formed in memory of Dick Waterson, a stalwart of Woodbridge Rugby club who died from a brain tumour in October 2012.[1]. Prior to his diagnosis Dick Waterson had continued to play rugby despite being over 60 years old and is well remembered in East Anglian rugby circles for his love of the game [2]

The club is also remarkable given the number of family member groups playing for them, on several occasions some 13 of the 15 players on the pitch have come from these groupings; Brothers - Will and Ollie Bennett, Matt and Dan Smith, Matt & Chris North, Father/Son - Ernie & Peter Pallett, Tim Scott-Douglas & Jack Scott-Douglas, Rory Scott-Douglas, Tony Gibson & Robert Gibson, Mick Sheehan & James Sheehan. This feat was recognised by the Rugby World Magazine[3]

EA Exiles is registered at Companies House as The Exiles RFC Ltd and the founder directors are father/son due Ernie and Peter Pallett. The other listed director is Mark Firth, an Australian Lawyer based in Dubai [4] working within the Internet and e-commerce areas but with sporting and charitable connections in Brazil and Australia.
