East ground Isle is one of the Isles of Bombay. It Lied Between The Elephanta isle and the Caronja . There is no current proof that this island existed, to know whether it did one needs to dig deep. There is no history of this island and no mention in the map of 1700 to 1750. It was last spotted in the map of 1820's. Now reclaimed Nhawa-shewa was earlier east ground. As per the early mention at the local institutions the official name for this isle could have been the isle de canara (Meaning The bank of the sea).
