Eastern Stars Ice Hockey Team
Eastern Stars were founded in 2000 by Igor Iljin and Vadim Vinnikov, and is made up of predominantly Eastern European players, with smaller numbers from Finland, UK, Canada and the USA
The team has had success in both friendly and competitive matches. At the UK Recreational Ice Hockey Championships, the Eastern Stars have been bronze medalists twice, silver medalists once, and gold medalists once.
Notably, in 2003, the Eastern Stars played an 'East vs West' exhibition game a the London Arena, which was visited by ice hockey legend Vladislav Tretiak.
Eastern Stars is the longest standing Eastern European ice hockey team in the UK.
