Ebenezer Markwei
Rev.Dr. Ebenezer Samuel Maama Markwei is one of the foundational leaders of the current charismatic renewal movement in Ghana. He is the General Overseer of Living Streams International[3], a thriving institution whose arms spread from Ghana, through Europe, the United States of America and Brazil in South America.[4]
Dr. Ebenezer Markwei has been in ministry for over 35 years. He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Science and Technology now KNUST, Kumasi and read chemistry. A holder of a doctorate degree in divinity from Truth Bible College, Jacksonville Florida and Diploma in Theology from the Ministry Training Institute Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, Dr. Ebenezer Markwei has served on various Charismatic and non-denominational boards both in Ghana and abroad. He represented his nation at the Millennium World Peace Summit for Religious Leaders at the United Nations, New York where he presented a paper on Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation, a paper which helped formulate policy for conflict resolution in Africa.[5]
Dr. Ebenezer Markwei is a regular face on television as a resource personnel on various discussions from marriage counselling to present day issues affecting the church in Ghana. An avid writer, Dr. Ebenezer Markwei has four international bestsellers – Silver Stones for Destiny, Treasures From Eden, Fishermans’ Road Map and Lights Off. His first book, Silver Stones for Destiny was translated into Portuguese. He is also the executive producer and a constant columnist on political and religious issues in the Lifeline Magazine which has a monthly circulation of 6000 copies.[6]
A man of many parts, he has released a new album of gospel songs called ‘Grateful’, excerpts of which can be heard on the airwaves.[7] As a regular host of the Lifeline radio programme on Sunny FM, Rev Dr. Markwei is a much sought after international Conference speaker and visiting lecturer in international Bible schools around the world. He has a notoriety for presenting biblical truth with an acute insight mixed with practical windows of application laced with humour that endears him to millions both here and abroad. He is married to Dr. Davina Markwei, a medical doctor and blessed with four children : Sean Ebenezer Marte Markwei, Metabel Tori Markwei, David Benariel Markwei & Darren Dynawd Markwei.[8]
