Elliot Wuu (born September 15, 1999) is an American pianist.

Early Life[edit]

Wuu was born on September 15, 1999 in Fremont, California. He began his piano studies at the age of six under the tutelage of Jed Galant and Rose Chen.

Musical Career[edit]

Wuu won first place in the 2015 Hilton Head International Young Artists Competition for Young Artists. He has also taken many top prizes at various competitions such as third prize and special Mozart prize in the Cleveland International Piano Competition for Young Artists, second prize and the special Schubert prize at the Minnesota International Piano-e-Competition, and second prize and special award for Best Performance of Russian Music at the Bösendorfer and Yamaha USASU International Piano Competition.

Wuu has performed extensively in many acclaimed venues in various countries such as France, United Kingdom, Italy, Romania, and Poland, among many others. He has performed at the United Nations headquarters in the presence of Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the WQXR Greene Space, Foundation Louis Vuitton in France, and Chicago Millennium Park.

He has performed with the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, Arad State Philharmonic, and many others.

Wuu was selected as a Young Scholar of the Lang Lang International Foundation. He was named as a 2016-2021 MTAC Young Artists Guild Member, the highest honor given to Californian music students. Wuu was also a finalist of the 2017 National YoungArts Foundation Competition and a 2017 U.S Presidential Scholar in the Arts semifinalist. In 2018 Wuu was named a Gilmore Young Artist.

Personal Life[edit]

Wuu graduated from Valley Christian High School in 2017. He currently studies piano performance under Robert McDonald at the Juilliard School. Previously, he studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with Yoshikazu Nagai.
