Eru Matsumoto
Eru Matsumoto (born March 20, 1991), is a Japanese-born American Cellist. She performs under the stage name 'ERU' and is primarly known for her role as principle and solo cellist.[1] in multiple performances. She began studying cello at the age of six and was later accepted into Juilliard School at the age of 16, tutored by the late David Soyer[2].
Notable symphonies ERU has performed with include: Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Hawaii Symphony, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, and Düsseldorfer Symphoniker [3].
Notable appearances include her performance at E3 for Ubisoft in 2018[4], as a guest speaker for TEDXSOAS in 2018[5], as a performer in Adele Live 2016, and at Anime Expo as a guest of honor in 2014 and 2015[6]
Notable collaborations of ERU include her work as cellist on the single Stone Cold (Demi Lovato song), nominated for a Grammy in 2016, and performing alongside Nathan Pacheco and David Archuleta at a gala in Miami as star cellist [7].
