Ether Cryptocurrency
Ether is the default currency within Ethereum blockchains.[1][2][3] Ether is used as currency and Gas, the default utilization fee of on an Ethereum blockchain. Users pay Ether to the network in order to create transactions, deploy smart contracts, and sign transactions. Gas fees comprising of Ether, are then paid out to miners whom mine blocks in exchange for block rewards in Ether. This reward is managed autonomously by the Ethereum consensus algorithm.
