The Exness Group is an international online broker providing retail foreign exchange services.[1]. It has registered offices in Cyprus and the United Kingdom and is licensed by a number of regulatory authorities.

History[edit]

The Exness Group was founded in Russia in 2008 by Petr Valov and Igor Lychagov. In 2012, it obtained its Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) license under Exness (Cy) and moved its headquarters to Cyprus. In 2016, it was authorized by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to offer its services in the United Kingdom under the subsidiary Exness (UK) Ltd[2][3].

Operations[edit]

The Exness Group has registered offices in Limassol, Cyprus, and London, United Kingdom.

In November 2017, the Group reported a total trading volume of USD 324.4 billion (confirmed by Deloitte) and a total of 44,276 active clients[4].

Trading Services[edit]

Exness offers trading in forex and CFDs through MetaQuotes' MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 electronic trading platforms[5].

Regulation[edit]

Exness (Cy) Ltd is part of the Exness Group, and is authorized and regulated by CySEC with license number 178/12 to offer Contracts for Difference (CFDs) in various underlying products. Exness (Cy) Limited complies with the Cyprus Investment Services and Activities and Regulated Markets Law of 2017 L.87(I)/2017, the transposition of the European Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) in Cyprus. It is also a member of the Investor Compensation Fund, which serves to protect and secure the claims of covered clients and provide them with compensation in instances where the member of the Fund cannot meet its financial obligations.

Exness (UK) Ltd is part of the Exness Group, and is licensed and regulated by the FCA, under register number 730729.

Sponsorships[edit]

Exness sponsored Red Bull Racing from 2014 till 2016, and has sponsored Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo since July 2017[6][7][8][9]
