Expectful (guided meditation platform)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Expectful is a digital platform that provides guided meditations and other resources for women who are preparing to conceive, pregnant and new mothers.:[1] The platform was released in June 2017 and is available through an iOS mobile app and online. [2]

History[edit]

Expectful was founded by CEO Mark Krassner after recognizing a need to make meditation accessible for women, in particular, mothers.[3] Raised by a mother who struggled to manage mental health challenges, Krassner, after practicing meditation himself, sought out research that linked stress and anxiety to fertility and pregnancy. [4] [5] After discovering that meditation supports every stage of pregnancy, Krassner approached meditation experts, hypnotherapists and sound engineers to create a product that would aid in reducing the stresses and anxieties specific to each stage of the fertility, pregnancy and motherhood journeys. [6] [7] Expectful is working to make meditation as common as prenatal vitamins.[8]

Product[edit]

Expectful is available through an iOS mobile app and web-based interface. They both provide a complete library of 10- and 20-minute guided meditations for women and their partners that are tailored to each stage of fertility, pregnancy and early motherhood.[9] For every subscription purchased, Expectful donates a subscription to an expectant mother at the Motherhood Center in New York City, a facility that helps women by providing treatment for postpartum depression and other mood and anxiety disorders. [10]
