Facemouse

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

FaceMouse, originally the name of a former product created by Claro Software in 2011, is no longer available for legal purchase or download. https://www.clarosoftware.com/help/tag/facemouse/[1] This product ceased production after windows 7.0 and was compatible with windows .net 3.5.1.

The idea for a Face Mouse, using a camera to watch a user and to map the users actions to a change in a Computer Mouse is an idea explored many times as previous patents show https://patents.google.com/?q=control&q=mouse&q=face&oq=control+mouse++with+face[2]

With the introduction of HD (High-Definition) cameras and cameras with different capabilities (ie. Microsoft Kinect, Kinect V2), this area of interest has expanded. There have been several projects since 2011 that have used cameras, in particular the Microsoft Kinect V2 given its high capacity, their usefulness has been proven.

A previous website that captured some of this information, www.facemouse.com, has been lost but other resources are being collected and will be added to this article in the near future.
