Fahim is a French comedy film directed by Pierre-François Martin-Laval, cast by Assad Ahmed , Gérard Depardieu and Pierre-François Martin-Laval.


Forced to flee Bangladesh, his homeland, young Fahim (Assad Ahmed) and his father leave the rest of the family and leave for Paris. Upon their arrival in France, they begin a veritable marathon of obstacles to political asylum. Thanks to his chess talent, Fahim meets Sylvain (Gérard Depardieu), one of the best coaches in France. When the French championship begins, the threat of deportation puts pressure on Fahim and his father.[1]

The plot tells the story of young Fahim Mohammad, a refugee who is forced to flee his homeland, Bangladesh, he together with his father went to Paris, and upon arrival in the new country, they start a real marathon in order to get the France grant them political asylum.[3]

However, Fahim has a great talent, he has the gift of chess, so he gets to know Sylvain, one of the best players in all of France. The young man enrolls in a national championship for chess players, and Fahim will have to win everyone to be able to stay in the country, thus avoiding deportation, the feature focuses on the young man's fight to be the champion.[3]
