Faith Lutheran College, Plainland

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Faith Lutheran College, Plainland is a co-educational Secondary school located in the Lockyer Valley region, mid-way between Ipswich and Toowoomba in South-East Queensland.[1][2]

Established on its current site in 2000, the school was built to cater for the needs of students from Year 7 to Year 12[3], with a campus footprint that encompasses just over 70 acres (28 hectares) of semi-agricultural land - the largest allotment of any Lutheran college/school in Australia.[3] Since its establishment, the school has undergone constant expansion, adding classrooms and facilities to support learning across different areas of the curriculum, including science laboratories, an agricultural precinct, spaces and studios to support visual and performing arts[4], and a $7.5 million indoor Sports Centre.[5]

In addition to the provision of Secondary schooling, Faith Lutheran College is also a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)[6] and allows students to study a range of Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses and qualifications through a dedicated Trade Training Centre that has been in operation since 2013.[3]

A Lutheran School, Faith Lutheran College is affiliated with both Lutheran Education Australia and Independent Schools Australia, and their local subsidiaries, Lutheran Education Queensland and Independent Schools Queensland. Though Faith Lutheran College has a denominational affiliation with the Lutheran Church of Australia, the College maintains a non-denominational enrollment policy, accepting enrollments from students from non-Lutheran and non-religious backgrounds.[7]
