Film Noir Foundation

The Film Noir Foundation is a non – profit public benefit corporation. The foundation was created as an educational resource with regards to the cultural and historical along with the artistic significance of film noir as a cinematic movement. One of their long term goals is to find and preserve films, threaten of being lost or damaged beyond repair. With this in mind The Film Noir Foundation has set goals of keeping high quality prints of these classic films for circulation for theatrical exhibition for future generations. Yet many of the 35mm prints have been neglected which leads the films disintegrate much more so of the lesser known titles. These yet to be found jewels should not slip through the cultural cracks they are well worth of rediscovery. The Film Noir Foundation has become a agent linking film companies and repertory cinemas which are eager to screen these 35mm films; they want to share the “Dark Side” of cinema with the new generations of audiences and film makers. Through revenues generated by ticket sales this money encourages movie studio archives to strike new prints of valuable to all lovers of Film Noir. The Film Noir Foundation has saved the following film since 2005.
