Follow Up Siberia

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

"Follow Up Siberia!" is an international cross-cultural digital project that was launched by Nornickel on April 23, 2018.[1] The official media partner of the project is Euronews and the organizational and information support is done by the AGT Communications agency.[2]

Nornickel being the general partner of the 2019 Winter Universiade created the “Follow Up Siberia!” project to promote cross-cultural interaction based on the premise of international sports activities. Nornickel as a company shares the values of unity, friendship, and openness, and sees its mission in establishing a global communication campaign that can go beyond sports and create a cross-cultural platform that unites people from different parts of the world on common values. “Follow Up Siberia!” draws attention to the Siberian region and helps to overcome the artificial barriers between people of different cultural background.

"Follow Up Siberia!" is centered around an online creative contest. According to the contest rules, the participants should find something that reminds them of Siberia or evokes associations with it, then shoot a video or take up to three photos of this place or object, and post these photos or videos on social media with the #FollowUpSiberia hashtag.[3]

The contest winners will come to Siberian cities: Norilsk, Dudinka, and Krasnoyarsk. Each tour has a highlight: the Arctic Curling Cup (the northernmost international curling tournament) in Dudinka, the Gornolyzhnik annual festival at the Bobrovy Log Funpark in Krasnoyarsk, etc.[4] The "Follow Up Siberia!" program consists of four tours.[5] The Euronews staff follows the participants and documents the way their perception of Siberia changes.[6]

The most active and creative participants of the tours will come to Krasnoyarsk during the 29th Winter Universiade. Participants from all the world are taking part in the international contest and the winners of the Russian part of the contest along with the volunteers trained by Nornickel will become the Ambassadors of Siberia who will help foreign guests and introduce them to the native land.
