Frytology
The term Frytology refers to the knowledge of frying. Frytology is a movement in honour of professional chefs mastering the craft of (deep) frying fries or other (frozen) potato based products. Once mastered this craft, chefs can be titled Frytologist.

Frytologist
A Frytologist is a person who prepares and serves French fries or other frozen potato based products on a professional level. Frytologists are well aware of all factors influencing the cooking of (frozen) fries. Such as: keeping and stocking of (frozen) products, cooking temperatures, amounts and timing. At the same time Frytologists are expected to bring forward their own creative expressions of serving fried products to customers.

Beyond the preparation of (frozen) potato based products, skilled Frytologists have knowledge of the entire process of planting, harvesting and stocking potatoes to the process of manufacturing (frozen) potato based products. Similar to how a barista is familiar with the entire process of coffee making [including maintenance and programming of the machine, grinding methods, roasting, and coffee plant cultivation] and consumption. A Frytologist can acquire these skills by (online) training, or are learned on the job.
