Galaxy based Search Algorithm (GbSA)

Galaxy based Search algorithm (GbSA) is a meta-heuristic algorithm like GA, PSO, and so on. The GbSA tries to search the state space and find the optimum state by simulating the movements of spiral galaxy. The GbSA includes two main procedures: SpiralChaoticMove and LocalSearch procedures. The SpiralChaoticMove and LocalSearch procedures play exploration and exploitation role in the GbSA respectively. The GbSA was originally introduced by Hamed Shahhoseini [1][2] and it was used to improve the performance of PCA (Principle component analysis).

Modified Galaxy based Search Algorithm:

Modified Galaxy based Search Algorithm(MGbSA) [3][4] is a variation of the GbSA. in the MGbSA, the localsearch procedure has been modified in order to improve the performance of the GbSA algorithm. The MGbSA has been applied on function optimization problem and it has been shown its performance is better than PSO, GA, and GbSA.
