Galicia Gordon was born on August 10, 2003. Galicia grew up in Vancouver, Canada and completed her education in Canada. [2]

Her father, Castor Fernandez [2][3], is a Vancouver artist, sculpter, and set designer who has had his artwork recognized by established arts institutes in Canada like Maynard's, Portside Interiors [4], Art Battle [5], and the Federation of Canadian Artists [6]. Galicia's mother, Ann-Marie Gordon [2], works as a nurse. [7]

Her father was born in Bordeaux, France, but raised in Galicia, Spain [8], giving Galicia her name. Galicia is a region in the northwest of Spain. [9]

Career[edit]

Galicia Gordon is a Canadian entrepreneur from Vancouver. [10] Galicia is best known as the Founder of Leading Learners, an all-in-one platform for student resources. She started Leading Learners mid-way through high school to develop a centralized support system for students. The platform has a mission of tying together the resources, materials, and tools students with various challenges may need. The startup has users from top-tier schools worldwide and is supporting thousands of unheard stories of students with academic struggles, a lack of support, and financial barriers in education. Aside from Leading Learners, Galicia is trilingual and has been speaking three languages fluently — English, French, and Spanish — and has tutored all three to elementary/high school students. Galicia regularly speaks and judges at business competitions, hackathons, and works with tech ventures. She has given hundreds of talks, workshops, discussions, and panels for students. Some of Galicia's notable speaking engagements being at Harvard, Columbia, UBC, CalState, UCSB, UCLA, Yale, McGill, Stanford, Oxford, AIT, MIT among several institutes worldwide. [13]

Following her entrepreneurial upbringing, Galicia spends time working with ventures, charities, and societies to help close the gap in education, technology, business, and entrepreneurship for students.
