Gary Bajaj

Gary Bajaj is a prominent Indo-Canadian photographer [1] and Internet pioneer [2], known for Raising the Bar (2018) [3] and I’m Sorry, What? (2019) [4]. He is the grandson of Hardial Singh.

Gary Bajaj started his career in 1985 as an apprentice at Bajaj Brothers Pvt. Ltd. (founded by Hardial Singh in 1941) and continued for 3 years until being promoted to a director of the company. He then moved on to found BITNETS (now Transcend Spectrum Inc.)[5] in 1999. In 2000, he started attending Northern Alberta Institute of Technology to study Computer Systems Technology. In 2002, he opened an "express" computer peripherals and accessories store: BITNETS PC Express alongside a small school that tutored children on how to use computers: BITNETS CyberKids.[6] These businesses ran until 2003, and were succeeded by BITNETS Consulting and Mail Hosting. Having sold his assets and closed his businesses right before he would have been affected by the Great Recession, he semi-retired and underwent separation and divorce. He remained semi-retired and was a full-time stay-at-home father until 2011 when he developed his passion for mixology and completed a course in Bartending at the Fine Art Bartending School in Edmonton, Alberta. He also worked at the 30th Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival as a volunteer bartender. He took up studying nutritional therapy in 2015. He received the International Certificate for Operators of Pleasure Craft from the Royal Yachting Association in 2017. Later that year he became a successful stock trader and investor. He took a Investment Securities course at University of Toronto in 2018 and attended Photography Studies at Ryerson University in 2019.
