George Brauchler

George Brauchler is an American attorney and politician from the state of Colorado.

Brauchler's family moved to Lakewood, Colorado, when he was two years old. He attended the University of Colorado Boulder on a U.S. Army's Reserve Officers' Training Corps scholarship, and also graduated from the University of Colorado Law School.[1] He was deployed by the U.S. Army twice, including once to Iraq.[2]

Brauchler was elected District Attorney for Colorado’s 18th Judicial District in 2012.[2] He prosecuted James Holmes for the 2012 Aurora shooting.[3]

In 2017, Brauchler announced his candidacy for Governor of Colorado in the 2018 election.[4] Later that year, he decided to end his gubernatorial campaign and run for Attorney General of Colorado.[5] He faces Phil Weiser in the general election.[6]
