George Danner is an award-winning data scientist and author. He is currently a Partner in charge of Data Science Services at Valedor Partners LLC.

Biography[edit]

George Earl Danner was born on June 5, 1961 in Texas City, Texas to George A. and Virginia Danner. George’s father George A. was a chemical engineer and his mother Virginia was a school teacher. George has one sibling, sister Virginia D. Hagens. George currently lives in Houston, Texas.

Education[edit]

In 1983, Danner earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University.

In 1997, Danner earned a Master of Science Management of Technology at MIT Sloan School of Management

While at MIT, George did a part of his course work at the Harvard Business School, notably under Professor Adam Brandenburger, a Game Theorist.

Career[edit]

George Danner served as a control engineer and software developer from 1983 - 1996 for various corporations with expertise ranging from valve and actuator controls, industrial processes, robotics, as well as chemical and large-scale manufacturing controls.

From 1997 - 2002 Danner worked for Arthur Andersen as Senior Manager of the Strategy Team, Southwest Region.

Danner founded Industrial Services LLC in 2002, an analytics consultancy that solved highly complex problems all over the world using scientific methods, with business simulation as their industry niche. The company was sold to nGenera in October 2007, and he held a position there as Vice President. His team was responsible for bringing simulation and analytics capability to clients using a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform.

Danner founded Business Laboratory LLC[1][2] in October of 2009, a data science and automation consultancy. Business Laboratory LLC was acquired by Valedor Partners LLC[3], a merchant bank, in September 2020.

Author[edit]

In 2015, Danner authored Profit From Science: Solving Business Problems Using Data, Math, and the Scientific Process as a primer for business professionals wanting to know more about the workings of data science and analytics;[4] The book was published by Palgrave Macmillan.

In 2019, Danner authored The Executive's How to Guide to Automation: Mastering the AI and Algorithm-Driven Business,[5] also published by Palgrave Macmillan

Awards[edit]

In 2013, George Danner is a recipient of the Wolfram Alpha Computational Intelligence Innovator Award for using Mathematica to simulate a flu outbreak in Alabama that coincided with the 2008 global influenza pandemic. Danner's Mathematica study helped identify the barriers to outbreak response for influenza outbreak.
