Giulia Lorusso[edit]

Giulia Lorusso (born in Rome in 1990) is an italian composer.

She studied Piano and Composition at the Milan Conservatory “Giuseppe Verdi” with Alessandro Solbiati  and at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse de Paris with Frédéric Durieux, Luis Naon and Yan Maresz. In 2015 she attended the Cursus IRCAM for Computer music under Hèctor Parra’s supervision.

Between 2010 and 2015 she took part in many workshop and masterclasses (Darmstäder Ferienkurse für Neue Musik; Impuls Academy a Graz and Accademia Chigiana di Siena among them) with composers as Pierluigi Billone and Salvatore Sciarrino among others.

Between 2016 and 2018 she received commissions from Spinola-Banna for the arts Foundation (Turin,Italy) in co-production with IRCAM-Centre Pompidou, Bludenzer Tage zeitgemäßer Musik (Bludenz, Austria),Radio-France, ProQuartet.

Her music has been performed in Italy and abroad: Festival Milano Musica, Festival Manifeste-IRCAM, Tzlil Meudcan Festival (Tel Aviv), Bludenzer Tage zeitgemäßer Musik, Forum Tactus for young composers  (Bruxelles) by ensemble as Distractfold Ensemble, Quartetto Prometeo, Divertimento Ensemble, Ex-Novo Ensemble, Ensemble Nikel, Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, Ensemble Intercontemporain.
