Global Infrastructure hub (GI Hub)[4][5] is a not for profit organisation that aims to increase the flow and quality of private and public infrastructure investments. GI Hub is headquartered in Sydney, Australia. GI Hub employs approximately 25-35 Infrastructure, legal, engineering, communications and technical staff.

History[edit]

Global infrastructure Hub was launched by the G20 in 2014 during the Australian presidency, to improve the quality and flow of investment into both public and private infrastructure projects. In 2014 GI Hub was funded with approximately $15 million a year by the Australian Government and 8 other countries[6]. GI Hub was endorsed by the G20 at the summit in Brisbane with an initial four year mandate [7]. The mandate [8] outlined by the G20 was to establish a global pipeline of projects advocating transparency and advocating a uniform regulatory and governance structure, while also promoting innovation by exposing data gaps, and benching marking best practice in the infrastructure industry[9].GI Hub has published these mandates by developing a series of reports which have been developed into online interactive tools.
