Gloverapp.co is a financial technology platform created to facilitate the buying and selling of gift cards, the conversion of excess airtime to cash, and the ease of payment for utility bills through its refill services and a one-stop shop for the purchase of E-tickets[1]. It is Africa’s leading Digital Assets Marketplace.[2]

History[edit]

Gloverapp.co was founded on March 25th, 2021[3]. The company is among the fastest-growing tech brands in Sub-Saharan Africa enabling a new digital assets class on the continent’s financial landscape with service offerings that bring ease and convenience to their numerous customers who engage in financial transactions on the platform. The company came to light in its quest to bail gift card owners and users who were stuck and needed to find a way around the no-refund policy of gift cards globally, which was the leading cause of non-usage of gift cards, affecting total utility of gift cards.

The company became successful in its pioneering innovation helping to unlock the limitless possibilities in the true value locked up in gift cards for all and sundry. As its customer base grew, so did its robust operations, informing its unbundling from Patricia Technologies where it powered the non-crypto services of the business, comprising  Gift Cards, Airtime2Cash, and Refill services (Bill payments), helping to give users on their platform more choice over their digital assets.

Its new status as an independent business concern  was announced in a press release in 2021 fully giving it a life of its own. As part of its growth and expansion plans, Glover officially launched in Ghana in December 2021 [4] with its footprints set to reach key cities across Sub-Saharan Africa in the not too distant future.

Realizing over 1,000 daily transactions in its first few weeks of launch, the app has gained nation-wide acceptance in Nigeria especially among increasingly digitally-savvy youths, propelling daily transactions to hit over 3,000 a day and counting. It’s also making in-roads into Ghana where it's steadily gaining traction and looking to gain a foothold in East Africa as well. Gloverapp.co was co-founded by Hanu Fejiro Agbodje, current CEO of Patricia Technologies [5] who is prolific at spearheading tech innovation that constantly redefines the financial tech ecosystem in Nigeria and the continent at large.
