In November 2009 the Go-Ahead Group purchased the business of Plymouth Citybus from Plymouth City Council.[1] Then in December 2014, the Liskeard-based operations of Western Greyhound was purchased and relaunched as Go Cornwall Bus.[2]

In January 2020 Go Ahead Group won a tender to run a network of routes across Cornwall for eight years under its subsidiary, Go Cornwall Bus. These routes began service under the company in April of the same year and are ran under the Transport for Cornwall branding.[3][4][5] In August 2020, the parent company rebranded their England's south west operations into Go South West.[6]

In November 2022 Dartline Coaches of Exeter was acquired.[7] The company later expanded with a new brand named Go Devon Bus for routes previously contracted to Stagecoach South West.[8]
