Gogola (Hindi:गोगोला) is an obscure 1996 Hindi-language sci-fi kaiju film directed by Balwant B. Dave and produced by T.M. Rai.[1]It is based on Gojira, a Japanese kaiju film. Promoted with the tagline "An action packed story of a sea-monster with thrills, suspense and what not?" The film is considered lost and not much information is available. It is the only Kaiju/Monster film from Indian cinema. All that is left is the soundtrack, posters and the censor script.

Plot[edit]

Most of the plot is unknown and sources vary about it. In Bombay, two beach-goers, Asha (Tabassum) and Kumar (Azzad Irani), see a monster in the sea. They go and tell the police but they don't believe them until the monster comes out of the sea and starts attacking the city. Asha's father, a scientist, makes a poison that can kill Gogola. Kumar volunteers to kill Gogola but his rivals want to kill him and take credit.[2] Most of the sources say his rivals kill him and Asha kills Gogola. The movie ends with Gogola dying and all the characters saying "Gogola mar gaya" (Gogola has died) and someone says "Very Good!" and movie ends.[3]
