Greenwood Friends School is a Quaker school associated with the Millville Friends Meeting House. It was established in 1978.[1]
About[edit]
Greenwood Friends School (GFS) serves students from pre-K through 8th grade. Enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year is 72 students, served by 6 full time and 4 part time teachers. About half of Greenwood students receive need-based financial aid, and transportation is provided from local school districts. GFS is a member of the Friends Council on Education[2] and accredited by Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools.[3]
Programs[edit]
The elementary curriculum includes "Wednesday in the Woods," a program where young students go on nature-based field trips every Wednesday. Curriculum for older students emphasizes a balance of socio-emotional learning (SEL) and academic rigor, in the progressive tradition of student voice and choice.
