The e-commerce company operates websites and mobile apps for 13 international markets with 7 languages, including English, French, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish and German. It accepts payments in 10 currencies.[2]

History[edit]

Gshopper was founded by Yeogirl Yun in 2012 in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Its predecessor was called B5M, or "help me buy" in Chinese, which was founded in 2007. B5M collects products from all the Chinese e-commerce platforms including Taobao, Tmall, JD, 1haodian and Amazon China and allows users to browse through them in the universal portal. Users can compare product prices across all the platforms and delegate B5M to place orders for them..[3]

In 2015, Taobao and Tmall filed an unfair competition complaint against B5M claiming B5M’s plug-in distorts Taobao and Tmall’s webpages. The court ruled in favor of Taobao and Tmall in April 2017.[4]

The company changed the business from price comparison to cross-border e-commerce and changed its name to Gshopper in September 2016.[5]

Gshopper has procurement, sales, operation, R&D, finance, and legal teams in Shanghai and Shenzhen, China. Gshopper established its Korean and Japanese procurement capability by setting up a Korea subsidiary in Seoul in 2016 and its Japan subsidiary in Tokyo in 2017. It expanded to Australia and the US in 2018.[6]

Product and Operation[edit]

Gshopper works with over 200 brands from various countries, such as Swiss, Oozoo, Blackmores, Eaoron, Karen, Murrell and Xiaomi.
