Guillaume Bruère

Guillaume Bruère (born in 1976) is a painter, draughtsman, sculptor and performer. He lives and works in Berlin.

After studying at the École des Beaux-Arts from Nantes and the École européenne supérieure de l'image from Poitiers. For several years he moved into museums and reinterpreted major works of the history of art.[1] Colour, collage and the search for expressiveness helped to create a singular world in the revisited old paintings as well as in public performances during which the artist shows - until exhaustion - the energy that prevails in his own work. More recently the theatre, dance venues and a refugee camp have been resources in which he has captured reality for his striking portraits.[2]
