Gulag Echoes in the Multicultural Prison is a research project funded by the European Research Council, based at the Aleksanteri Institute, University of Helsinki in Finland. The project runs from 2018 to 2023 and includes team members from the disciplines of history, geography, sociology, anthropology, and law. It is headed by Professor Judith Pallot.
The full title of the project is "Gulag Echoes in the 'multicultural prison': historical and geographical influences on the identity and politics of ethnic minority prisoners in the communist successor states of Russia Europe."
