Gursimrat Singh Bhundar is the CEO and Founder of PetroWagon. PetroWagon is an Indian online fuel ordering and delivery platform which offers services for day-to-day customers who require fuel, as well as school buses and diesel generators. He founded PetroWagon in October 2019. Gursimrat is also currently studying at the University of Waterloo.

Early life[edit]

Gursimrat was born in Bathinda, Punjab, India and spent his early childhood in Bathinda and Chandigarh. After the death of his father, Balraj Singh Bhunder who was heavily involved in the political scene in Punjab, he migrated to Canada in the early 2000s and spent his youth in Toronto, Canada. From a young age Gursimrat showed technological proficiency and scientific interests. Gursimrat attended the University of Waterloo earning a bachelor's degree in Joint Honours in Mathematics and Physics with Computer Science.

Personal life[edit]

Gursimrat belongs to a family with a heavy political background. He is the son of Sardar Balraj Singh Bhunder who was the National General Secretary of the Youth Wing, Youth Akali Dal.[1] His Uncle, Balraj's brother Dilraj Singh Bhunder is a member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly or the Punjab Vidhan Sabha.[2] Gursimrat's grandfather, Balwinder Singh Bhunder is a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament of India, from the state of Punjab, and is the Senior Vice-President of Shiromani Akali Dal Political party.[3]

Career[edit]

Gursimrat's entrepreneurial career began when he started a streetwear brand, Burgundy, in high school. He stitched clothes at home using his sewing machine and hand techniques and sold to students and other customers. In 2019 Gursimrat founded PetroWagon, an Indian online fuel ordering and delivery platform which offers services for day-to-day customers who require fuel.
