Hailey Jae Wait is an American Instagram personality, illustrator and musician. Born in Salida, Colorado, Wait is best known for her artwork and her Instagram page, which has over 130,000 followers.
Best known by her stage name "Pigss", Wait initially became known in mid-2017 for posting selfies without any make-up or digital retouching, showing off her acne .[1][2] Wait’s foundation-free selfies attracted the attention of multiple media outlets including Teen Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and Dailymail. Wait now uses her social media platform to raise awareness of domestic abuse,and sexual assault as well as acne and trichotillomania.
Wait has since created artwork for indie musician Timothy Heller, creating merchandise as a fundraiser to support sexual assault survivors as well as the RAINN organization. All profits made from the merchandise are intended to be donated.[3][4][5]
In the winter of 2017 Wait uploaded a demo of an original song to her SoundCloud page, titled “Human Cannonball”. She has stated that her stage name "Pigss" is related to both domestic violence awareness and the harm that animal agriculture may cause, and she has stated that she intends to continue these themes in her music. An album is expected to be released in 2019.[6] She currently lives in Buena Vista, Colorado .[7][8]
